Description and Desired Qualifications
_CH2M HILL Upstream Oil & Gas Piping Designer Jobs - Minot, North Dakota_
The challenge? Help CH2M HILL grow our business and help our country meet the ever increasing demand for energy. Our Piping Designer position will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting fast pace Upstream Oil and Gas projects. Each day you will be an important part of the team as you participate in the planning, front-end development, design, coordination, and execution, of multiple upstream projects. These oil & gas production projects include liquid and natural gas gathering systems, well tie-ins, pipelines, liquids/gas processing, pump stations, meter stations, and compressor stations. The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge and have experience with all aspects of the project life cycle (feasibility studies and detailed design through construction) and upstream/midstream experience in multiple US basins. A strong client focus with the ability to quickly adapt to ever changing project priorities is a must. You should be a self-motivated, practically oriented, quality driven, team-focused Design professional with a desire to grow both personally and professional with each new design project.
Our Upstream Oil & Gas Piping Designer :
Is knowledgeable of LEAN work practices and applies these principles to project delivery.
Performs design work across several disciplines including, mechanical, 3D piping, alignment sheets, structural steel, and reinforced concrete.
Participates in quality review check for Design deliverables.
Has a high ability to work on multiple small projects simultaneously.
Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations.
Mentors and supervises less experienced designers as needed.
Displays strong communication and interpersonal skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Drives ownership of health & safety in all aspects of project execution.
Additional Information:
CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa (e.g. H-1B visa, etc.) to fill this position.
This position will work out of our client's Minot, ND site.
Basic Qualifications
Expert with CadWORX, and 3D piping
5 years of experience with 3D piping
3 years of experience in the US upstream/midstream industries
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical information in user friendly terms to a diverse audience
Experience in any or all of the following: oil & gas pipelines, production/treating facilities, well tie-ins, compression stations, terminals, meter runs, tie ins, or launcher/receivers
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the basic qualifications, the following are also highly desired:
Pertinent field and construction experience is a plus
Experience with ProjectWise, Sharepoint, Civil3D
Experience in being a design/AutoCAD office lead
Ability to lead a team of multi discipline designers
Ability to supervise, train, and mentor less experienced designers as required
Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for upstream projects
Ability to develop designer man-hour estimates for multiple disciplines
