Job Description CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Case Manager who will supervise Case Managers. Case Managers advise families through the full-life cycle procedures of the disaster recovery program. The Lead Case manager will report to the Housing Manager and will be responsible for supervising the following Case Manager
Responsibilities:
o Assist families in completing the application form, in person, telephone or internet
o Conduct face-to-face meetings with the family, explaining the housing disaster program and answering questions
o Provides specific descriptions of program options and technical assistance to the family in choosing the best program options for them, repair, replace, or buy-out. This includes the ability to perform preliminary and final calculations of all program options and providing the family with a clear and concise presentation of the options. This could be for a housing rehabilitation or reconstruction program, housing buyout program or housing reimbursement program
o Reviews required verification information from the family (e.g. identity, property ownership, damage assessments, etc.)
o Provide families with program information to take home, including a list of any documents still needed for verification
o Determine relocation services and payments in accordance with the Uniform Relocation Act
o Schedule a physical inspection of the property
o Refer cases to the Operations Center for document processing and verification, and monitor completion of processing the determinations of eligibility
o Contact the family as necessary to ensure that missing documents are provided.
o Perform a review of the verification information and relocation services and benefits prior to presentation to the family
Minimum Qualifications o Demonstrated knowledge of and experience applying the requirements, policies and procedures of the disaster housing program
o Communication skills - ability to articulate details of program in a manner understandable to variety of groups in person and over the phone
o Interpersonal skills- ability to work successfully with socio-economic and ethnically diverse populations
o Knowledge in best practices for customer service and experience in implementing such services
o Ability to review and analyze personal data such as tax returns, lease/rental agreements, property deeds, insurance or loan documents and financial records
o Knowledge of mathematics to perform eligibility and benefit calculations
o Skilled in multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing work, maintain confidentiality of program materials and families personal information
o Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
o A flexible schedule including ability to perform some evening or weekend work which may be required
o 2 years of supervisory experience required
o 2 years of experience working on a CDBG project required, 5
years of related experience
o High School Diploma

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
